A power of attorney is a document which grants someone the authority to act on behalf of another person (the Principal) in financial and legal matters.
Quite clearly, such a document is a very powerful document and detailed instructions need to be obtained such that the Principal is aware of the powers that they are giving to their attorney so as to avoid the unfortunate financial surprises over the following years.
I will discuss all aspects of the Power of Attorney and draft the documents so as to limit the attorney’s powers should that be necessary.
An appointment of Enduring Guardian is a document whereby a person appoints another person to make health accommodation and lifestyle decisions on behalf of another person, the Principal, when the Principal loses mental capacity. I provide comprehensive advice when taking instructions for preparation of such documents.
